“Wadey” was Doug’s nickname when playing footy. The boots are his customary "Stripe Master" boots that were specially made for him during his playing days; the cricket bat alludes to his skills as a cricketer and was given to him by his friend the famous Don Bradman; the chickens are from his own chicken house, and also signify the year of Rooster 2017; and finally the apple upon which he is seated, is a reference to an apple that decided the outcome of one of his most memorable matches.
